UN Security Council met on the situation concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In an interview with VOA, the head of the U.N. peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Martin Kobler, said certain benchmarks must be met before the U.N. mission, known as MONUSCO, can begin gradually reducing its more than 21,000 troops and police.
